Harry
Anderson
January 19, 1953 – April 22, 1926
Deacon Harry Anderson was peacefully summoned to his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. He was born on January 19, 1953, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to the late Willie Anderson and Velma Robinson Anderson.
Harry accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age. He made a vow to the Lord and never turned back, remaining steadfast and unmovable in his faith.
Harry graduated from Peabody High in 1971. He attended Grambling State University which was his ultimate goal in life. He became a truck driver for several trucking companies, traveling across country. With his health issues, he retired to work as manager of the family business, Anderson Stop and Swap Grocery.
Harry married his “kindred spirit,” Arlinda Arthur Anderson, and to that union was a blended family which included his son, Tammond, Travis, and Toia.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Arlinda Arthur Anderson of Baton Rouge, LA; son, Harry Tammond (Shiana) Anderson of Alexandria, LA, and his blended family, Travis Jenson and Toia (Shanda) Calderon of Baton Rouge, LA; brothers, Charlie Anderson of Alexandria, LA, Henderson Ray (Diane) Anderson of Houston, TX, and James (Debra) Anderson of Alexandria, LA; and sisters, Willie Jean A. Crittle, Hazel A. Woods, and Shirley A. James, all of Alexandria, LA, Lena Marie A. Allen of Ennis, TX, and Isolean A. (Minter) Young of Killeen, TX.
Harry was also a proud grandfather of two grandchildren, Keiren and Kyler Anderson, and the blended grandchildren, Khalid King and Harold Hughes, Jr.
Harry is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, church family, and dear friends who will continue to celebrate his life, legacy, and unwavering faith.
