In the early morning of August 27, 2024, Irma Lee Dodson said, "I fought a good fight" and answered the Master's call peacefully.  Irma Lee Dodson was born July 6, 1945, the youngest of five children born to the late Albert and Emma Dodson, Sr.  Irma Lee was also preceded in death by her brothers, Daniel Dodson, David Dodson and Albert Dodson, Jr.

Irma Lee was raised in a God-Fearing home.  At an early age she was Baptized and became a member of Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church.  She was educated in the Rapides Parish Public School System and graduated from Peabody High School.

Irma Lee was a kind, humble and loving aunt, cousin and friend to many.  She was dedicated to her church where she served as a deaconess, on the Kitchen and Mission committees, Senior Choir, chaperone for youth outings and so much more.  She also volunteered weekly at the Manna House serving food to the homeless.  Irma Lee was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Irma Lee loved talking about politics, going to the library, mall walking and traveling to see family and friends. She loved to ride the city bus and those that were on the bus with her knew her by name.

Irma Lee leaves to cherish her memory her sister; Deloris Reid, Nieces; Gwendolyn E. Dodson, Julia A. Reid, Toshia E. Smith (Thomas), Lisa R. Williamson (Jesse) and Deborah Reid. Nephew, Albert Q. Dodson III and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

Services for Irma Lee Dodson will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church, 2705 Wise Street, Alexandria, La. 71301.  Rev. Clarence Reed, Pastor.  The viewing for Irma Lee Dodson will begin at 9:00 am and services will begin at 11:00 am.
