Leo Smith Sr., age 94, of Alexandria Louisiana passed peacefully on April 7, 2025 at the VA Hospital, Pineville Louisiana.

A memorial service for Leo Smith Sr. will be held at Winnfield Funeral Home, 2033 Third Street, Alexandria. Visitation to begin promptly at 9:00 AM on Monday April 14th. Rosary will be led by Deacon Luke White of St. Juliana Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Burial to follow at Alexandria Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Woodworth La.

He was a member of St. Juliana Catholic Church and served as an usher until his health declined in December 2023. After the military and receiving a Purple Heart he went on to work for the VA Hospital 30 years before retiring at the age of 55.

He was preceded in death by his mother Ida Smith, his father Jimmy Smith, brother James Smith & sister Cevelia Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 70 years, Gloria August Smith; daughters Rosalyn Smith-LaCour (Danny) & Cynthia Smith-Price; sons, Leo Smith, Jr (Cynthia) & Tony Smith (Janelle). His brother Johnny 'Ricky' Smith of Los Angeles California & Richard Smith (Totsie) of Lake Charles, Louisiana along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members & friends.
