Mr. Walter Thomas,Sr., 78 of Alexandria, passed away Friday, January 17, 2019 in Alexandria, Louisiana. A Homegoing Celebration will be held at 10:00 am Monday, January 27, 2019 at Winnfield Funeral Home, Alexandria, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am on Monday and continue until the start of service. Burial will be in Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, Louisiana. Those left to cherish his memories include one daughter, Tomeca Drakes; five sons, Guy Baty, Eric Baty, Walter Thomas, Jr., Kenderick Drakes and Dontour Drakes;27 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one brother, Randy Thomas; nine sisters,Delores Thomas, Molly Thomas, Irma Jean Thomas, Johnell Thomas, Avery Ann Thomas, Gloria Thomas, Ruby Thomas, Barbara Thomas and Sandra Thomas; his lifelong partner, Cinderella Drakes; and a special nephew, Chris Scudder.
