Visitation will be held at from 9:00 am- 10:45 am Saturday at the Winnfield Funeral Home in Alexandria.
Edna was born into Timothy Baptist Church where she was baptized at an early age. She remained an active and devoted member up until her health began to decline in 2016. During her membership, she served in numerous capacities including Deaconess board, choir member, choir president, as well as countless other roles in the church.
Edna was affectionately known as “Nanny”. She acquired this title from taking care of everyone, loving on them, and making them feel like family. She never met a stranger and was always so warm and welcoming to everyone she encountered. Above all things, "Nanny" was known for her fiery personality, great fashion sense, and those unforgettable high stepping heels. She may have been petite in stature but not in personality. She was larger than life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Rachal, four brothers and two sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory: One sister, Alvie Rachal of Alexandria, Louisiana; two great-nephews, Terry Perry and Herbert Perry “Her boys” as she affectionately called them and raised as her own, both of Alexandria, Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and the Timothy Baptist Church Family.
Please keep the Rachal and Perry Families lifted in prayer. Signature Services by Winnfield Funeral Home of Alexandria, "When you Desire the Best"
