Michael Yancy 68, of Alexandria, LA was called home on November 22, 2021. Hey was born to the late Ella Mae Hawkins and the late Mr. B. F. Yancy on July 10,
1953 in Pineville, LA.
Michael was a dedicated Cement Finisher at Gilgrist Construction for 30 plus years. He was well known in the community to many and he pride himself on
helping others. Michael was selfless and always willing to give a smile and a helping hand, He was a faithful and dedicated deacon at God's Church.
Michael loved spending time with his grandchildren, friends and family. He loved to make people laugh and had a contagious personality.
Michael was married to Gladis Yancy on October 23, 2016, he had three children, Jennifer Yancy, Christina Yancy Jenkins (Terry) and one son preceded in death
Timothy R. Yancy one step daughter Dekedria Turner (Rashawn) and two grandchildren Terry Jenkins Jr., and Railinn Turner. Three sisters; Barbara Yancy (CJ) of Alexandria, La, Lee Ethel Giles of Montgomery, AL, and Ella M. Hurd (Charles) of Houston, Tx. Nine Brothers; Billy Dee Yancy (Geraldine) of Alexandria, La, Matthew Yancy (Elaine) of Houston, TX, Seven Brothers preceded him in death: John Yancy, Bishop Ray Yancy, Little Bill Yancy, Mitch Yancy, Leonard Yancy, J.B. Yancy and Augusta Yancy.
Michael also leaves behind his special friends: Mrs. Lois, Darrell (Peanut), Ben, Eddie, Brenda and his friend the late Mr. Herman Nash; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
